Didier Drogba's controversial winner allowed Chelsea to shrug Manchester United aside and put themselves back in pole position in the Barclays Premier League title race.

Sir Alex Ferguson and his team will feel hard done by as Drogba looked offside as he collected Salomon Kalou's pass and drove home 12 minutes from time.

The significance of the error only became clear once Federico Macheda had pulled a goal back for the hosts to set up a pulsating finish.

But Ferguson would be aware that the first hour had been completely one-sided in Chelsea's favour and that the visitors should have had a greater advantage than the one goal Joe Cole provided in the first half.

Without Wayne Rooney, there was no real bite in United's attack. And although the 34-goal striker is only out for a fortnight, by the time he returns his side's dreams of glory might be over, considering Chelsea now have a two-point advantage and a superior goal difference.

There is no doubt the ankle injury Rooney suffered in Germany had a negative effect on United. But the fault lay much deeper, their play too ponderous to have any impact.

All across the midfield, United were wasteful in possession. And with Florent Malouda giving Gary Neville a tough time, Chelsea took complete command.

The disappointment for Ancelotti must have been that his team did not make the most of their possession.

Edwin van der Sar denied Cole on one occasion and Nicolas Anelka had a couple of shots blocked but clear-cut chances were rare.

Even Chelsea's opening goal was not a golden opportunity in that sense.

Malouda was invited to run into the home box and although Darren Fletcher eventually reacted, the Chelsea midfielder had the strength to hold him off and cut the ball back to the near post, where Cole got in front of Patrice Evra and found the net with a neat back flick.

It took United a long time to respond. And when the rally eventually came, it took the form of a couple of debatable penalty appeals and referee Mike Dean was not impressed either when Yury Zhirkov chopped down Park Ji-sung and Dimitar Berbatov fell under Frank Lampard's challenge.

Had Paulo Ferreira shown more conviction when he raced to meet Cole's excellent through-ball at the start of the second half, the contest would have been over.

Instead, the full-back failed to find either the far corner, or Anelka, and United, who at least found some momentum, remained alive.

The escape certainly seemed to galvanise the hosts, who for the first time made Chelsea's defence creak.

Berbatov, the man of whom so much was expected in Rooney's absence, was just off target with a couple of headers and, off balance, Park was unable to keep his shot on target after a forceful Fletcher run had carved Chelsea open.

The introduction of Drogba midway through the second half emphasised the Blues' strength in depth and predictably, the striker had an immediate impact, even if he was offside as he collected Kalou's pass before drilling his shot past Van der Sar.

Down, and almost out, United responded instantly as Cech pushed Nani's cross onto the on-rushing Macheda.

The ball bounced slowly into the Chelsea goal to set up a dramatic ending.

But the Blues were worthy winners at the end. Behind glass, in the executive box where he watched from, Rooney could only wonder what might have been.

A Scottish archaeology student had lady luck shining down on her during a dig in Europe when she discovered a 5,000-year-old piece of chewing gum.

23-year old Sarah Pickin discovered the Neolithic gum during a dig in north-west Finland recently.

Her finding is especially significant as it shows that chewing gum existed even 5,000 years ago.

The lump of birch-bark tar, complete with visible tooth marks, has now been sent for analysis where it is expected to be carbon dated at around 3000BC.

"I had heard of ancient chewing gum being found before on previous European digs so when I found it in the trench, it was the first thing that crossed my mind," the Scotsman quoted Pickin, as saying.

"However, it looks just like a dirty piece of modern chewing gum with no smell or taste and I was also worried it could have been a bit of fossilised poo, so I asked a few of the other students to make sure.

"Thankfully they agreed that it was birch-bark gum and it's now away to be carbon dated and have the teeth marks analysed before it goes on display," she added.

Pickin’s tutor at Derby, Professor Trevor Brown, a heritage and conservation expert, said: "Birch-bark tar contains phenols, which are antiseptic compounds.

"It is generally believed that Neolithic people suffering from gum infections found that chewing this stuff helped to treat the condition.

Definitely one of the good books i've read so far. I spent 5 hours straight reading it, trying to savour every word, every image and emotion. And when it ended, I wished I hadn’t gone through it so quickly.

I think it’s part of human nature to want to hold on to things that fall out of our grasp so easily. To be able to feel like we have control over such delicate situations.

It was a good story, in my opinion.

Relationships between men and women are never as romantic or deep as in novels; but its nice to escape and pretend.The reason I liked this story was it was romantic and the characters were likeable.

Overall, I loved the direction the story took not because it was sad and their romantic relationship ended but because it was real. Savannah's love opened John's heart up and showed him what true love is. he was able to connect with his father on a whole new level that he never had and grew to love and respect and truly appreciate all the wonderful things his Dad struggled to provide him with growing up. Savannah falling for Tim was an obvious part of the plot to me from the start but nonetheless it was an enjoyable read. John really grows so much as a person in this novel its really more about one's own capacity to love and grow than a romance story. I think the ending is a true testament to John's development into a strong loving person. He loved Savannah enough to let her go and help her and Tim have a chance so generously and selflessly, and selflessness and sacrifice truly is LOVE in its greatest form and for that, everyone has a happy ending int his novel. I wish there had been something about John meeting a great girl in the epilogue who appreciates and loves him and didn't marry someone else but I guess you can't have everything! Good story i should say "

Firstly, what do you call a baby kangaroo? koala? wallaby? wombat? I'll tell you the answer at the end of this post..=D

This post will be about my trip to Melbourne before the New Year. Now, since we're all mostly the future architects and some are quantity surveyors, let me share with you a few buildings you can find in Melbourne city.

I also visited the other side of Melbourne which was more on nature. I sat 3-4 hours on bus too see the scenery there..













Australia is well-known for its kangaroo, koalas and wallaby. I was lucky enough that i met a joey! =D












Why do u think it looks so sad? haha. Well, the koalas will eat all the leaves. Koala spends 2/3 of their time sleeping and 1/3 of their time eating. Koala can be said as 1 of the laziest animal. After they have eaten all the leaves, they will migrate to another area and the whole process repeats.
Save the penguins! Lots of penguins can be found in Australia. At about 9pm everyday, little penguins will make their way back to their homes.

Everything is amazing in Melbourne. Many universities around that area. People there are more relaxed, not like in KL. People there are very friendly and polite. THe food and shopping there was AWESOME!
